Gloria Spevacek was born in New York City of immigrants from Mexico.

She studied art from preteen age, in multiple NY art schools, mostly on scholarships. After HS, she worked in advertising agency, then joined the US Navy, where she served in the Medical Corps.

Later, after graduating from The Cooper Union for Arts & Science in New York, she worked as Medical Illustrator and Media Chief at the Veterens Administration Medical Center in the Bronx, NY.

She left the VA to pursue her life long sculpture dreams. She still lives in New York City, with a studio in Long Island City, Queens, NY.
