Sculpture has been a form of human expression from the days of the prehistoric men who chipped and carved soft stone or fashioned figurines out of damp clay. Much of our history has been gathered from remnants of sculpture and fragments of work that were both functional and beautiful.

Sculpture represents some of the earliest known forms of artistic expression.
